Jean-Michel Basquiat’s ‘Untitled’ is one of the greatest masterpieces of the modern era. Coming from the esteemed collection of Yusaku Maezawa, this monumental tour de force leads the New York auction season and will be offered in the Evening Sale of 20th Century & Contemporary Art on 18 May. This monumental self-portrait, executed in 1982, is among the artist's largest canvases and depicts the artist as a fiery devil rising against a gestural expanse of vibrant color evoking the physicality of Abstract Expressionism.
